DONATIONS FOR NAMIBIA TOWARDS COVID-19 RELIEF

Dear Friends of Namibia,

This is to share with you some impressions on the COVID-19 relief campaign that has been underway since June 2021. The Embassy of the Republic of Namibia in Berlin has witnessed great public awareness of the COVID-19 situation in Namibia and the resulting efforts to acquire assistance, in the form of donations from all corners of the Federal Republic of Germany, the Republic of Poland and the Czech Republic. All efforts by civil society, businesses and individuals in mobilising assistance and sending donations to the Embassy are highly appreciated!

The first consignment with urgently needed equipment, including CPAP machines and oxygen machines arrived in Namibia on 18 July 2021, where it was received by the Ministry of Health and Social Services for onward transmission to Katutura State Hospital in Windhoek and Gobabis District Hospital in Omaheke Region.

On 21 July 2021, the second consignment was collected by a logistics company from the Embassy, for dispatch to Namibia. The consignment is expected to arrive in Namibia on Wednesday, 28 July 2021 by Lufthansa from Frankfurt.

For any donations, kindly contact the Embassy at info[ at]namibia-botschaft.de or direct deposit into the following bank account. The funds will be used to purchase essential medical equipment.
